 Description:  The State Water Plan Task Force (SWPTF) was created in 1980 to guide policy decisions regarding the adequacy of programs to deal with an increasing number of water issues and to prepare a State Water Plan for Illinois. One of the first reports of the SWPTF was the preparation of Special Report No. 3 in 1983, titled Drought Contingency Planning, establishing the framework for the Drought Response Task Force and the states drought contingency programs and options that are in place today. The present plan represents an update of that report.
