The three problems of highest priority that were identified were: 1.) The water quality impairments which include excess nitrate and phosphorus concentrations in the river and lake; 2.) Wastewater contamination as indicated by fecal coliform in the river segment between Bismarck and Lake Vermilion; and 3.) Excess sediment loads in the river and Lake.
