By mid-November, more than 35 residential wells had been sampled by various parties.Trichloroethylene (TCE) had been detected in at least 20 wells, and it had been found in excess of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Drinking Water Standard for public water supplies (5 parts per billion) in six wells. The concentrations ranged from just above the detection limit to almost 20 parts per billion in one well.
