This report is based on the results of that survey. One-third (34%) of these hunters had used a shooting range during the past 12 months. The range users visited private ranges (92%) more frequently than public ranges (48%), primarily to engage in the shotgun shooting sports: sporting clays, trap, etc. Rifle shooting was also relatively popular on private ranges. Two-thirds (68%) of the hunters felt a need for more shooting ranges, with the need being highest (84%) in Administrative Region 2. Attitudes of hunters toward shooting sports are profiled, as are some personal characteristics of hunters. One third (34%) of respondents belonged to the National Rifle Association. | | | Date Created: | 01 05 2003 | | | Agency ID: | W-112-R-11 | | | ISL ID: | 000000003464 Original UID: 3322 FIRST WORD: THE | |
