Eastbound I-64 at I-55/70

 Description:  The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that eastbound I-64 will be reduced to one lane between the I-55/70/64 split and 18th Street in East St. Louis beginning at 8:00 pm September 6, 2012 until 6:00 am the following morning, weather permitting. These lane restrictions are necessary to remove a sign truss over eastbound I-64. Motorists should also expect 15 minute closures while the truss is being lifted from over the traffic lanes. Traffic will be allowed to clear after each closure. Although delays are expected to be minimal, please consider alternate routes or use extra caution when traveling through this area. The contractor on this project is Keeley and Sons from East St. Louis, Illinois. John Scheibal is the Supervising Field Engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation in this area.
