.State of Illinois Public Water Supplies Annual Compliance Report Calendar Year 2001 The purpose of this report is to satisfy the requirement of Section 1414(c)(3) of the 1996 Amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). States with national pr imary enforcement authority are to prepare, make readily available to the public, and submit to the Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) by July of each year, an annual report on violations occurring during the previ ous calendar year of national primary drinking water regulations by public water systems (PWSs) in Illinois. Attached is the Annual Compliance Report for Calendar Year 2001 (CY01). Attached to this report as Appendix is listing for each contaminant egulated by the SDWA, the numbers of maximum contaminant level (MCL), treatment technique (TT) and major monitoring and reporting (M/R) violations for each compliance period during CY01 and the number of systems incurring violations.
