Description
This publication is submitted to the General Assembly as mandated by Public Act 93-1031, the Older Adult Services Act. This Act requires the Department on Aging to notifiy the General Assembly of its progress toward compliance with the Act on Jan. 1, 2006, and every January thereafter. This report summarizes the work completed in 2008, identifies impediments to such progress, and reflects the recommendations of the Advisory Committee, including items requiring legislation. Five workgroups pertaining to finance, workforce/caregiver; nursing home conversion; services expansion; and coordinated point of entry met througout 2008 to consider actions that will adviance the trnasformation of long term care in Illinois. The report includes the Department's recommendations and significant accomplishments.
