  • Illinois Department of Revenue publication FY 2004-23 Metro-East Mass Transit District Fee, Informational Bulletin, is to: Vehicle dealers located in the Metro-East Mass Transit District (MED) portion of St. Clair County. Effective July 1, 2004, we will begin administering the fee on vehicle sales imposed by the Metro-East Mass Transit District. Instead of paying the fee directly to the transit authority, you must remit the fee to us along with any tax owed on Form ST-556, Sales Tax Transaction Return. We have revised Form ST-556 and instructions to accommodate this change.
