.The Illinois State Library marked an important milestone on Nov. 20, 2002, by celebrating the 10th anniversary of its first satellite teleconference. State Library Associate Director Patricia Norris and Tina Hubert, formerly of the State Library and now an employee of the Lewis and Clark Library System, hosted the landmark November teleconference titled, "Geographic Information Systems and Libraries." The event was the State Library's 50th teleconference since airing its first program in November 1992. Nearly 1,000 viewers at locations in states registered to view the program. And locations in Illinois offered the program. While most viewers watched the program via satellite, others watched it via Web cast through the Secretary of State's Web site.
