.State Library sets goals for FY 2001. 'Find-It,' Project Next Generation among budget requests My first year as Secretary of State and State Librarian has been very rewarding. We are now heading full force into what is dubbed the 'Information Age,' and libraries are key part of this great era. am truly inspired by all the new initiatives Illinois libraries are undertaking to meet the challenges of the new millennium. Increased Internet access, expanded electronic databases and new outreach programs for people of all ages are among those projects that are changing the face of the library community. Libraries have, indeed, become community resource centers that help citizens meet their information needs in this ever changing world. am most pleased with the efforts of the Illinois State Library in addressing the needs of Illinois citizens. Although resources are limited at times, am confident that we can continue to help libraries across the state do what they do best - help the people
