Description
The Illinois Education Funding Advisory Board was created by Public Act 90-548 in December of 1997 with the primary charge of making recommendations to the General Assembly for the foundation level and for the supplemental general State aid grant level for districts with high concentrations of children from poverty. This report is the result of study and consultation with the Illinois State Board of Education and contains the funding recommendations.

.Pursuant to the requirements in Section 5/18-8.05(M) of the Illinois School Code [105 ILCS 5/18-8.05], the Education Funding Advisory Board, in consultation with the State Board of Education, shall make recommendations to the General Assembly for the foundation level and for the supplemental General State Aid grant level for districts with high concentrations of children from poverty. This report, dated October 2002, is intended to fulfill the Education Funding Advisory Board's statutory obligation for January 1, 2003. It should also be noted that this report presents comprehensive plan for reform of funding for elementary and secondary education in Illinois.
